Marx and Lincoln: A Curious Convergence

Join British socialist historian Robin Blackburn for a discussion of his recent book, An Unfinished Revolution: Karl Marx and Abraham Lincoln. Blackburn will discuss how Marx and Lincoln, while divided by far more than the Atlantic Ocean, agreed on the cause of “free labor” and the urgent need to end slavery. Expanding on both thinkers, Blackburn specifically explores how the IWA in America—born out of the Civil War—sought to radicalize Lincoln’s unfinished revolution.
