Join us for a celebration of the exhibition “Lorca in Vermont” with poets, translators, artists, directors, and musicians exploring and interpreting Lorca’s work. A brief introduction to the exhibition will be followed by a performance by Joan Jonas and a panel where poets, translators, and directors will discuss the continued engagement of those seeking to render and pay tribute to Lorca’s work either through literary translation, the staging of his plays, or projects in nonliterary mediums. Jazz pianist Ben Sidran will end the evening with a musical tribute to Lorca.

“Interpreting Lorca” is part of LORCA IN NEW YORK: A CELEBRATION (April 5-July 21, 2013), the largest-ever festival in North America celebrating the work of acclaimed Spanish poet and playwright Federico García Lorca. Presented by Fundación Federico García with support from Acción Cultural Española, for more information about the festival please visit http://lorcanyc.com
