What is the relationship between the public education system and the prison industrial complex? Join Damien M. Schnyder
(Scripps College, Intercollegiate Department of Africana Studies at the
Claremont Colleges) for a lecture and public conversation. This lecture
will launch POLICED, a new seminar which invites participants to
explore modes of discipline, regulation, resistance and transformation
among diverse sites such as prisons, the home, and schools. Professor
Schnyder’s research explores the relationships among the public
education system, prisons and the construction of Black masculinity in
Southern California. |
