About Marco Millions
Marco Millions was written by Eugene O’Neill in 1924. It follows the life of Marco Polo as he grows from a young merchant to gain wealth and world experience, mostly through his interactions with the great Kublai Khan. Though O’Neill called it a “comedy satire by an American of our life and ideals”, a closer reading reveals the complications of that statement. Put simply: it’s a problematic (and weird) play!
