The Translation Mellon Seminar on Public Engagement and Collaborative Research, co-led by Professors Debra Caplan and Cheryl Smith, is collaborating with Words Without Borders, the online magazine for international literature, on a drama in translation issue and event in fall 2016. As part of this collaboration, WWB is looking for students and faculty from within the CUNY system to write about international theater-related happenings and people for its Dispatches blog this summer.
We’re interested in reviews, interviews, profiles, creative reflections, and photo essays about theater/performance and translation (international dance/theater scenes, fringe festivals, performances, theaters in other countries, profiles or interviews with international performers or writers of theater, etc.).
Pieces should be 600-1500 words. Please include a bio with your submission and, when possible, photos to accompany the piece.
Please direct submissions, pitches, and questions to Jessie Chaffee: [email protected].
Cosponsored by the Translation Mellon Seminar on Public Engagement and Collaborative Research, and Words Without Borders.
